I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ), Ankara, Turkey in 1990 and 1993, respectively. I completed my PhD in Operations Research at Case Western Reserve University in 1998. I joined the department of Industrial Engineering at Koç University in 2001. Previously, I worked as a research fellow at Eurandom (Eindhoven, Netherlands), and as an instructor at Erasmus University (Rotterdam, Netherlands). I spent 2010 as a visiting scholar at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. My research is focused on stochastic modeling and analysis of health care systems, including hospital operations and chronic disease management.
