Our research is aimed at the development of systematic approaches to systems engineering problems. We address development of approaches to integrate data (both qualitative and quantitative) with physical models and development of mathematical programming algorithms to optimize system performance. The application areas include process, business, and biological systems. Process Systems Engineering problems that we address are synthesis, design, and analysis of complex and integrated process networks. Sustainable Supply Chain and Logistics Systems Engineering problems include quantitative approaches to business strategy, supply chain management, and logistics. Systems Biology research addresses prediction of protein structure, and synthesis of small molecule drug candidates.
