Ergin Bulut is an assistant professor at the Department of Media and Visual Arts at Koc University, Istanbul. He received his PhD from the Institute of Communication Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

His research interests cover political economy of culture and communication, media labor, development and international communication, philosophy of technology, cultural studies and video game studies.

Ergin’s writings have appeared in journals such as TV and New Media, Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies, Review of Education, Pedagogy and Cultural Studies, and British Journal of Sociology of Education. Ergin is the co-editor of Cognitive Capitalism, Education, and Digital Labor, which it was published in Turkish with the initiative of Notabene Yayınları. As part of SSRC’s Inter-Asia Initiative, Ergin is collaborating with scholars across the world on the theme ‘Media, Activism, and the New Political’.
