ABOUT

Uğur Aygün is a Ph.D. candidate in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Koç University, under the supervision of Prof. Hakan Ürey and Assistant Prof. Ayça Yalcin Özkumur. His current research focuses on the development of optical biosensing platforms for nanoparticle detection. He is affiliated with Optical Microsystems Laboratory at Koc University and Laboratory of Advanced Biotechnologies for Medicine at Bahcesehir University, Istanbul.

He received his BSc. in Electronics Engineering and Physics (double major degree) from Istanbul Technical University in 2013. He was an exchange student at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden for the 2010 Spring semester and he was a visiting graduate assistant at the University of CambridgeCavendish Laboratory, the UK between September 2013 and February 2014.

His research interests are optical biosensing and spectroscopy. He is a student member of The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE).
